Our first coffee from China, this farm is named after the owner, Ou Yang. Mr Ou’s farm is located in the Pu’er region of Yunnan, a region more traditionally associated with the famous Pu’er tea, but recently becoming known for its excellent coffees as well. Right on the border of Laos and Vietnam, Mr Ou’s farm is focussed on providing job opportunities for the disadvantaged hill tribes in his community as well as improving agricultural and technical processes on his farm, in order to create a sustainable, community-based farm with an educational coffee experience centre on site as well.
This is a naturally processed coffee that has been fermented in bags twice, once straight after picking and once more after being dried in the sun. This gives the coffee a lovely, syrupy sweetness that is reminiscent of strawberries and caramel.
