Santuario is a washed regional blend of coffees from 90 different farming families in the Huila region of Colombia. Grown between 1400 to 1700 metres above sea level, it is a fantastic representation of a classic, washed Colombian coffee; clean, bright and juicy, with chocolate and apple undertones.
Many of these farms would have been previously used to grow coca for cocaine production, but thanks to Colombian government initiatives, former coca farmers are being offered a path back into Colombian society by switching to coffee production instead, as part of the peace process out of the armed conflict that has gripped the region for so many years.
Our friends Jorge and Augusto from Arcadia Green Coffee introduced us to this coffee, and we are truly grateful to them and delighted to be able to share it with you. We are sure you’ll enjoy it.
