From the Kilimbi washing station in Nyamasheke District, this natural coffee has a medium body, and is sweet and floral with tasting notes of grape juice and strawberries. We are very pleased to have sourced this coffee through Raw Material Coffee, an importer that makes impact at source their main focus. Raw Material don’t just swoop in and buy up the highest scoring coffees in a given region to sell on to roasters, but rather look for coffee producers that will provide the most impact in their communities, and work with those communities to help them improve their coffees and livelihoods, for example facilitating a knowledge share between Rwandan and Colombian producers last year. We’re very honoured to be able to roast and share this coffee with you, which is a result of the hard work of Raw Material, their partners in Rwanda, Muraho Trading Company, and the farmers and communities that grew, picked and delivered this coffee to Kilimbi for processing and exporting.
